San Andres
A small archipelago in the Caribbean (it’s actually closer to Nicaragua than Colombia), San Andres has an unique colure, a fusion of Jamaican and Colombian, marked by soca music and Creole-speaking in habitants, while the islands; clear blue waters and coral reefs make them a great destination for snorkelling and scuba diving.
Visitors wanting superb diving in crystal clear water, warm, white sandy beaches, exciting nightlife, colourful culture, and choice of full-amenity accommodations, relaxation and duty-free shopping head to San Andres in the Caribbean.
Thanks to a vivid and multi-ethnic history, San Andres offers a varied cultural experience, from the cuisine of the islands to the languages spoken. Spanish is the official language but people also speak English.
There are several tourist sights on the island and many are included in island tours. One is Morgan's Cave, a deep coral grotto with a series of tunnels leading to the sea, with many pirate stories attached to it.
La Loma, a village entirely inhabited by island locals, is worth the climb to see island architecture at its best.
Swimming and snorkelling is great in the warm waters of San Andres Island. Some excellent keys to swim at are Johnny Cay and Haynes Cay. You can even take a trip out to Boilvar and Albuquerque keys, which are great for diving.
